Review of 1-on-1-Resumes.com

1-on-1-Resumes.com

(Not Recommended)

Entry Level / Mid Level / Executive
$89     $89     $89

On a really tight budget? 1-on-1-Resumes.com offers a compelling price ($89.95), and the same low price regardless of experience level. To sweeten the deal even further, interviews are guaranteed within 30 days or they will re-write your resume at no additional charge.

So why only one star? For starters, the quality of workmanship – the down side of most budget resumes. In the case of 1-on-1-Resumes.com, $89.95 isn't going to buy the same quality as say, the $199.95 resume at ResumeWriters.com or the $345.00 resume at GreatResumesFast.com, two companies in particular that garnered our 5-star rating. That is assuming the resume samples posted at 1-on-1's website are any indication. Those samples are OK, but not nearly as good as those over at the two companies mentioned above.

Other troubles with the company, as well (see what we didn't like, below)...

How It Works:

On the home page, you'll see a link marked "Click Here To Have Us Write Your Resume!" Click it, and follow the subsequent instructions. You'll be asked to forward an existing resume (if you have one), and/or provide your 1-on-1-Resumes.comrelevant career information via their online form. You'll be given the opportunity to add additional services to your order, like cover letters, follow-up letters, etc. Complete your order and make payment.

Don't expect a telephone interview with your assigned writer. At these prices, that's not in the cards. But you are given a means to communicate directly with your writer, should the need arise.

You'll see your finished resume in 2-3 business days via email in Microsoft Word format. Contact your writer if you need to make any changes or corrections. Now, put your resume to work: you've got 30 days to line up at least one job interview, or the company will re-write your resume at no charge.

Here's What We Liked:

  • Pricing is easy on the wallet. At $89.95, it's one price fits all.
  • Ready in 2-3 business days, with faster turnaround available for an extra fee.
  • Hard copies (yes, printed on actual paper) are available.
  • An interview is guaranteed within 30 days, or they will re-work and re-write your resume.
  • In business since 1999.

Here's What We Didn't Like:

  • The Writers are not certified.
  • Perhaps the above helps explain the lesser quality of workmanship we noticed on the resume samples.
  • We had a lot of trouble trying to reach someone at the company. Anyone at the company. We've tried phone, we've tried email. Nothing. We'd be truly upset if we had money on the table, as in, a paying client.
  • Finally, the Better Business Bureau. Having previously given the company an "A" rating, they have now dropped that to "" and revoked BBB accreditation from the company for failure to comply with agreed BBB standards.

1 on 1 Resumes.com Review - Summary:

For those on a tight budget, you can get a professional resume for less than ninety bucks. That's the good news. The bad news is that the writing quality is not up to par with the services we rate 4 and 5 stars. If you really need to watch your pennies, consider the $129.95 resume over at CareersPlusResumes.com. It's a leap ahead in writing quality, and all the writers are certified.

Better still, the $199.95 resume over at ResumeWriters.com or the $345 resume over at GreatResumesFast.com. These are two companies with top-notch certified writers and very attentive customer service. Read our in-depth reviews of each of these two companies, respectively, HERE and HERE.

Still, if you'd like to explore this company further...
